Ms. Dubofsky founded AGC in 2010 to continue serving the lower middle market and providing M&A advisory services on a nationwide basis. A seasoned intermediary who has been involved in the deal-making arena since 1993, she has developed an exemplary track record of successfully negotiating and completing a variety of M & A transactions in the divestiture, acquisition and capital raise arenas.
In her position with AGC, she is active in managing business acquisition, sales and merger engagements on behalf of the firm’s clients. One of her primary focuses is the development and implementation of proactive marketing strategies for clients who have retained AGC to coordinate targeted acquisition search campaigns. She excels in providing proprietary deal flow for AGC’s buy-side clients, while the company’s sell side clients are thrilled at her ability to generate multiple competitive offers resulting in increased transaction values for their operations.
A predominant industry focus of Ms. Dubofsky’s is the insurance and financial services sector. In the insurance segment, she has an extensive track record of success in working with a variety of both retail and wholesale distribution transactions on a private to private, private to public, and private to private equity on an annual basis. Areas of insurance in which she has worked run the gamut from specialty program business, to property & casualty to employee benefits and individual risk protection and retirement planning products. In financial services, her experience encompasses the broker dealer and registered investment advisor arena, as well as full service wealth planning.
Aside from the technical aspects of deal making and transaction structuring, Ms. Dubofsky also understands the “people” side of the transaction and is an expert communication facilitator. She is particularly adept in maintaining and enhancing the parties’ relationship as the transaction proceeds through the time and emotion sensitive phases. These qualities have earned her repeated referrals from past clients, as well as from many of the attorneys and accountants that were involved in her transactions.
Prior to forming AGC, she was a Director with another highly regarded boutique merger & acquisition advisory firm serving the lower middle market for ten years. Her transactional experience included working with shareholders of companies in a variety of industries, and with private equity groups seeking to make investments within these industries.
Previous to her M&A work, Ms. Dubofsky was the marketing director for an East Coast-based, full-service commercial real estate firm and was instrumental in the development of its Chicago office in the late 1990’s. During this time, she initiated and managed the programs for attracting tenants to properties owned and managed by the company. In addition, she provided transactional and financial advisory assistance in negotiating major tenant lease proposals. Ms. Dubofsky has served some of Chicago’s most highly regarded commercial real estate companies in a marketing capacity, as well.
Ms. Dubofsky is an informed and active participant in speaking in and the planning of seminars on various M&A related topics on the divestiture and acquisition side, including Maximizing Value in the Sale Process and Corporate Growth via Acquisition.
Ms. Dubofsky is a leader among her peers. In her early years in the industry, she served three terms on the Board of Directors for a Chicago area M&A association. She was also one of the youngest and one of only a handful of women to have earned the Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary (M&AMI) designation from the M&A Source in 2007. She is an active member of the Chicago Union League club and the philanthropic activities close to her heart include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago; Generation Rescue, which promotes Autism Awareness; and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
